Day Ski Tours

All of our day tours are PRIVATE  and catered to you and your group’s ability level and interests. We are experts at providing instruction in avalanche awareness and backcountry travel, and will help you improve your technique in off-piste terrain.

Lunch is provided on all day tours and includes a deli-style sandwich, snack bars and homemade treats.

In addition to lunch, all tours include avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe rental,and a full day of guiding and instruction. You need to bring skis, boots, poles, climbing skins and a day pack with your personal items. All equipment can be rented locally. Please note that tour rates do not include guide gratuity.

We operate independently of (and away from) the ski resorts so you do not need to purchase a lift ticket for a day in the backcountry with us.

Transportation is not included, however we can arrange a shuttle from the Wilson Transit Center for an additional fee.

Tours meet at 8:30 am on top of Teton Pass or in Grand Teton Park  and generally return between 3:30-4:30 in the afternoon.

DAY TOUR CANCELLATION POLICY:  A credit card is required to confirm your reservation. Cards are not processed until the tour is completed.  Cancellations that occur in less than 24 hours will be charged the full price of the tour. If TBG deems the weather or conditions unfavorable for touring, we will cancel the tour and not charge the participants.

Overnight Hut Tours

Please read Jackson Hole Hut Tours for descriptions and rates. All hut tours include:

Small, private groups – With a 1:4 guide to client ratio. You get personal attention as you receive instruction and improve your skills with the region’s best backcountry skiers and guides. All trips have two guides to accommodate for different ability levels. Tours are limited to 6 participants.

Slopeside yurt lodging at 8,000+ feet – We offer the only hut system in the Tetons with unparalleled views and secluded on-mountain locations.

All meals including snacks, appetizers, dessert and apres beverages – Enjoy our healthy meals with organic mixed greens, wild Alaskan salmon, fresh fruit salads, gourmet coffee and homemade treats.

Avalanche safety equipment – Backcountry Access Tracker transceivers and Black Diamond shovels and probes are provided.

Porter service to carry in food – You simply carry your own personal items. Sleeping bags and pads are furnished at each yurt (we provide clean liners) so your pack can stay small and light.

Custom Departures – If tours aren’t available when you are, then create a custom tour. All of our tours can be scheduled at a time that is convenient for you or your group.


 Overnight Guided Hut Tours Cancellation Policy

A 50% deposit is required to confirm reservations. Balance is due one month prior to trip departure. Cancellations that occur prior to one month of the scheduled departure dates will be  refunded  deposits less a $200 cancellation fee.. Cancellations that occur less than one month prior trip departure are subject to forfeiture of all monetary transactions. If Teton Backcountry Guides cancels your tour, your payment will be refunded in full.

We strongly suggest giving yourself a day or two to acclimatize before your trip and allow for any travel disruptions that may occur in the winter months. If you fail to arrive for the trip departure date on time, you will be responsible for any additional fees that incur due to logistical disruptions.

Hut Tours depart from either Driggs or Victor between 8 and 9 am. If you need transportation from Jackson Hole, we can arrange a shuttle for you for an additional cost. . Participants must supply their own skis/snowboard, boots and poles. We can arrange equipment rental for you and make suggestions for the appropriate gear for snow conditions. The right equipment will make a world of difference.

We provide Backcountry Access Tracker avalanche transceivers, Black Diamond shovels and probes.  North Face zero-degree sleeping bags are supplied at the yurts with clean liners and sleeping pads for bunks.

We fully refund deposits if the trip is canceled due to lack of participation.

All trips are subject to a 3% Forest Service user fee.
