Weather can change momentarily in the high mountains and can be variable throughout the summer. It can snow at any time of the year, so we are always prepared with warm clothing. Generally most days begin sunny with cool mornings (in the low 40’s) changing to warm afternoons (in the high 70’s or 80’s) in August. Frequently afternoon thunderclouds form and rain may fall, clearing out to starry skies and clear evenings that can dip down into the high 30’s depending on the time of the summer. We supply 0 degree Mountain Hardware sleeping bags and sturdy ground pads to insure you of a warm night’s sleep and comfort in the mountains.
