Teton Backcountry Guides owns five yurts in the beautiful Teton backcountry: four remote mountain yurts for winter use and one summer yurt with vehicle access. Our yurts provide warm, cozy shelter for unique backcountry adventures with guaranteed fresh tracks.
Each of our four mountain yurts measures 20 feet in diameter, has a private, sheltered latrine, and is located approximately four miles into the mountains. Baldy, Plummer, and Commissary Yurts sleep eight people; Teton Canyon yurt sleeps six people. You can expect approximately three to five hours of easy to moderately strenuous hiking (climbing skins necessary) to reach the mountain huts. Rammell Mountain Summer Yurt, our 30-foot in diameter summer yurt, is located on the valley floor and features solar electricity and a separate bathhouse with hot running water.
Baldy Knoll Yurt
Located at 8,800 feet with access to Grand Teton National Park, this yurt sits amid ideal terrain for backcountry skiing and riding. With proximity to open bowls, tree skiing, couloirs and numerous 10,000-foot peaks, you can’t find a better location for a backcountry yurt! Snowmachine access is permitted. More »
Commissary Ridge Yurt
Located at 8,000 feet, Commissary Ridge Yurt offers the most spectacular views of the Grand, Middle and South Tetons and has abundant terrain for all abilities, from beginners to experts. Plummer Canyon Yurt
Located at 8,700 feet, Plummer Canyon Yurt is our “wilderness yurt” and is ideal for those looking for a pure mountain experience. A wide range of terrain opportunities from beginner, with mellow lines on Mt. Wow, to expert, with the famed Game Creek chutes, make this a gem in our system. Snowmachine access is not permitted. Rammell Mountain Summer Yurt
Rammell Mountain is our “glamping” yurt. It’s accessible by vehicle during summer and fall months, boasts a bathhouse with hot running water, and is ideal for families and friends less comfortable roughing it! The yurt sits in a peaceful and secluded aspen grove in the foothills of the northern Tetons. This is our only yurt available for rent during the summer and fall months. Open May through October. Teton Canyon Yurt
Teton Canyon Yurt is located in the summer use campground in Teton Canyon where opportunities to explore a riparian environment and see wintering wildlife abound. The yurt is accessed via a four-mile, mostly flat, groomed Nordic track that is ideal for cross-country skiing, skate skiing, and snowshoeing. More »
